UKZN Human Resources (HR) Division has extended the closing date of the ongoing Employee Engagement Survey (EES) to 27 October 2023, urging more staff to participate.
The Interim Officer in Charge of HR, Mr Mokgase Masemola said, ‘The survey was launched on the 9th, scheduled to end on 23 October 2023 with a view of finding out what we are doing well and where we need to improve. Based on the numerous requests that we have received, we have decided to extend the closing date to 27 October 2023 to give those who have not been able to take part an opportunity to do so.’
Masemola said the EES is an opportunity for staff to have their voices heard on several issues, and thanked those who have enthusiastically participated so far. He said the Division encourages staff to participate as their input is critical in shaping the University to be an employer of choice.
The survey is available - in both English and isiZulu and can be completed online and manually.
‘UKZN has opened a confidential and anonymous platform for staff to express their views and thoughts without fear or favour. Staff need to take advantage of this opportunity and to note that it is their input that is going to impact on proposed strategic and operational changes,’ said Masemola.
He guaranteed that staff would not be identified through the survey, urging participants to rest assured that no identifying data is being collected and that the report will be provided at a high level so that individuals cannot and will not be known. Masemola emphasised that the data of the survey is processed in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013.
Posters and pamphlets have been placed on all campuses. Drop-off boxes for completed questionnaires are available at different points on all campuses. HR has a surprise gift which will be awarded to the first College or Division that reaches between 90 to 100 per cent submissions.
